DRAGON STACKABLE
WOOD CHAIR
1995-96

Contact :
DRAGON is a stackable wood chair with plywood seat and back.
The back has been curved in two directions without being double-curved using a specially developed geometry. It is mounted in a slit in the cross-beam. The assembly with one bolt replaces glue. This makes back surfaces diverging from the frame surface possible.

In the chair design a light and vital, "animal" expression where the possibility of stacking is not dominating, has been accented. The curves of the horizontal part of the trestles give "muscles" and material where it is necessary: in the assembly.
At the same time achieves a division between the load-bearing massive wood frame and the sculptural plywood shells.

As a supplement to the chair I designed the DRAGON TABLE SERIES which was shown for the first time at SE 99.
