| GS 1000 is an extension of my final project from the school of architecture in 1986. The program consists of a number of bench types: Long and short, with and without backs, with and without armrests. The special one-pillar construction seen in the short two-person models solves several problems in the use of traditional benches: Placement of benches in sloping terrain, cleaning around the bench etc. At the same time the rather sturdy bench is given a slightly floating characteristic. The bench has been exhibited at SE 91 in Copenhagen and Vienna as well as the Museum of Decorative Arts in 1997. |
